Rescue: Greenleaf Hut & Old Bridle Path

Lakes Region Search & Rescue, Pemi Valley Search & Rescue, Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team and Androscoggin Valley Search & Rescue supported NH Fish & Game with a carry-out for a patient with a lower-leg injury near Greenleaf Hut.

The patient was approximately 3 miles and 2,500' of elevation gain up the Old Bridle Path. The team and patient arrived safely back at the trailhead at 9:15 PM.

More than 40 SAR personnel heeded the call and arrived quickly as most were coming directly from NH statewide SAR training at nearby Cannon Mountain. Training had concluded at 3 PM. Every one of the rescuers was needed for this long carry. The team used litter passes over some obstacles and low angle rope belays over others.
