Rescue April 2026 - Iron Mountain

Six LRSAR and ten AVSAR team members and two NH Fish & Game Conservation Officers managed a carry out on Iron Mountain in Jackson Friday 4/24 for a lower leg injury.

The team hiked 1.9 miles up trail with SAR gear and a litter. The patient was returned to the trailhead and local emergency care at 4:00 PM.

The litter can be equipped with a single large wheel which was used for the full carry. Pace is dictated by safety considerations and the patient’s condition.

A big thank you to our SAR members and New Hampshire Fish & Game. We wish the patient an easy recovery.
